The Big, Bad LAN
Rules...
Here, they are, you knew they were here
somewhere.. The Rules !
Organisers of 'Evolution' reserve the right to refuse
entry to any person and any persons in breach of these conditions.
Organisers reserve the right to remove, at their own discretion
any person who they feel is violating these conditions of
entry.
1. Behavior - All participants must behave
in an orderly manner, this means no;
• Fighting
• Running (Go outside, there
is a huge field!)
• Rough play (There is a
lake and we won't be afraid to use it)
• Harassment of other participants
2. Respect - The theft, misuse or abuse
of other people's property will not be tolerated. Permission
must be gained before you touch someone else's gear. Organiser

will not be used for public file-sharing of copywrited
software or warez. Please enable passworded network file-sharing.
We will have patches and necessary files that you may need
available on staff PC's (a file
sever is coming)
4. Virus Protection - It is strongly recommended
that all participants have a working and up to date anti-virus
system enabled on their PCs, and not knowingly have an infected
PC at our LAN. If your PC is found to have a virus, you
will be disconnected asked to remove it before you can rejoin
the network.
5. Entry Requirements - While not an enforceable
rule, all participants must turn up with all equipment as
described in out next
event page under "What you will need",
failure to do so will cause you to look like a n00b, and
it's a long drive for a mouse, There will be some, limited
items for loan (power cables).
All participants must bring (if under 18) a disclaimer that
is signed by your parent or legal guardian, people over
18 may sign a disclaimer on the day. We do not allow you
to bring friends, relatives or random strangers out to 'Evolution' if they do not meet entry requirements.
Invitations are allowed, but all people attending must confirm
their attendance by clicking here
and sending a confirmation e-mail, this means YOU!
6. Wandering - All participants are to
stay in the main area of the hall, out the front, and toilet
areas.
The kitchen, storeroom, back of the building, roof, under
the building and any other place that you think you shouldn't
be in are off-limits.
7. Cheating/Hacking - Basically put, if
you are caught, you will be removed.. (repeated instances
of "net send" will also not be tolerated)
8. PC Setup - When the table space is starting
to get a bit thin, staff members may ask you to move your
PC case to the floor, to allow for more people. Please either
keep this in mind when setting up (position your cables
for easy transition to the floor) or simply put your case
on the floor to start with.
9. Speakers - No speakers will be allowed
without the permission of a staff member, speakers will
only then be allowed for special instances. Please ensure
that you bring a working set of headphones with you.
10. Porn - 'Evolution' is not a over

under the age of 18. Participants are not to have, either,
on display or publicly shared, images or media of a pornographic
material. (If your grandma wouldn't
condone it, then it's porn!)
